Instead of making a quilt of valor, I've gotten into Lap Robes for Veterans. It is a local endeavor led by Nancy Van Apeldoorn and I have 'caught the bug' and am totally devoted to the cause. The Quilt Guild I belong to has been very active in the Lap Robes For Veterans. the Lap Robes are given to returning Honor Flight participants, WW II and Korean War veterans, and others. It is a wonderful acknowledgement of these veterans bravery and service to our country.

I have spent the last couple of days designing a new quilt. I want to make a quilt of valor or one I can donate to a similar organization. Of course it will be red, white and blue, although it doesn't have to be. I seem to have quite a bit of that in my stash so, yah, I can use what I have. I'll share the design as soon as I have it drafted out.

Well, I finally did it. I've been wanting to create a blog for a while, but I wasn't sure what I would put in it, so it might turn out pretty boring. I will try to put something sewing and quilting related in it and hope it turns out interesting to some. I have recently completed two quilt tops for charity, they might go to Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus, NY where most of my charity quilts go.
They aren't quilted yet, what do you think. Why are my pictures blurry, is it because I saved them as 'small'
